I’m thinking of visiting CrossLand. What kind of people will I meet? What should I wear?
CrossLand is a small, friendly church with a relaxed atmosphere. You’ll meet people of different ages, financial means and places in their Christian walk. You’ll also see all types of dress, from jeans to ties.
Click on the Location tab on the left and from there you can get directions by clicking on “Get Directions To Here.”
What do you have for my kids?
Children are important at CrossLand. Nursery is provided for ages 0-2 during the entire service. Children older than 2 stay with their parents during the music worship to foster worshiping together as a family. During the sermon, a pre-school class is provided for children ages 3-5. A class for children grades K-5 as well as a class for middle school is also provided during that time. (Middle school and high school groups meet during the week.)
What exactly is a Bible church?
As an independent Bible church, we are not formally affiliated with a denomination or church hierarchy, which gives us independence from human tradition and authority, and frees us to be totally dependent on Jesus Christ, the Head of every local congregation of believers. We firmly believe in the authority of the Bible – the God-inspired and infallible Word of God. We have a strong sense of structure with Elders, Deacons and church membership, balanced with an emphasis on each believer being a priest in the body of Christ, with gifts to exercise as a minister of God’s grace, made possible through the Cross of Jesus Christ.
CrossLand’s music, like all parts of the worship service, centers upon the teaching from the Word of God for that Sunday. The songs encourage, uplift, comfort, and shed light on this teaching. We sing mostly contemporary songs, and also sing at least one hymn every week to remain connected to our heritage. Our sound is designed to be clean and simple and is mainly acoustical. The goal of our worship team is to lead by worshipping God.
Why don’t you allow comments on your blogs?
We discussed how we should communicate with people on the blog, and we believe that there are too many opportunities for miscommunication and misunderstanding in such an impersonal and anonymous method of social interaction. We’ve seen far too many fruitful discussions on other sites turn into petty name-calling and bickering over subtext and inferences. So we chose to limit these discussions to email. Each of our blogs will have a contact link, and you can email us directly with any questions or comments, and we’ll do our best to answer them. We want very much to learn how God is using this ministry, but not at the price of detracting from what should be the only focus of our site: who God is and what He is doing at CrossLand Community Bible Church.
