1. Does the
church recognize, and submit to, the authority of the Bible?
2. Does the
overall direction of this church allow for a balance in worshiping
God, teaching the Scriptures, and. experiencing fellowship with
one another and God?
3. Is the
Bible taught clearly and regularly? Is this teaching applied to
current issues and to everyday life?
4. Does the
church teach its members how to study the Bible on their own?
5. Is the
prayer vital and dynamic, based on an awareness of human needs
in the congregation, or are church members locked into approaches
to prayer that make it impersonal?
6. Is giving
encouraged to be a free‑will offering,
or is it coerced and guilt‑induced? Is the congregation
informed about how the money is used?
7. Is the
music of the worship service effective in stimulating personal
worship and uniting the congregation in worshipful expression?
8. Do the
philosophy of ministry and activity format accomplish the following:
a. Provide opportunities, encouragement,
and training to share Christ with others?
b. Allow time for members to relate
informally to one another outside the church building?
c. Encourage
family time outside of the church?
9. Do the
leaders of the church demonstrate humility and a spiritual perspective,
keeping in touch with the needs of members? Are they open to changing
forms of ministry and programs in order to better apply New Testament
principles and meet the needs of the people?
10. Are children
taught and ministered to, as opposed to just being given "child
care"? Are the children enjoying meeting with the Lord and
growing in their own relationship with God?
